Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield reportedly taking a relationship break
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are reportedly taking a break from their three-year romance, according to spidey senses tingling on the worldwide web.
Long distance appears to be the super-villain in this saga.
The adorable “Amazing Spider-Man” costars are said to be going on honey hiatus while Garfield shoots Martin Scorsese’s historical drama “Silence” in Taiwan through May, and while the Oscar-nominated actress finishes production on “Aloha” in Los Angeles -- at least that’s the story several outlets wove on Tuesday.
Stone’s film, which costars Bradley Cooper, comes on the heels of her Broadway run as Sally Bowles in “Cabaret.”
“Emma understands his work anxieties -- it’s why she originally pulled out of ‘Cabaret’ last year and only did it this year -- but they’re taking a break from seeing each other,” one source told People. “They’re both a slave to their schedules. This time last year they were privately discussing marriage.”
Garfield, 31, plays a Jesuit priest in “Silence” and is said to be “very in his character,” Us Weekly said.
“He’s lost weight, and he’s in a dark place mentally for his performance and he’s not boyfriend material right now,” a source told that mag.
The dishy mag also purported that the couple, who began dating after their first “Spider-Man” effort wrapped production in 2011, “had been fighting a lot and they hadn’t seen each other.”
Still, People and E! News chimed in with multiple anonymous sources saying that the break is likely temporary and mainly a result of hectic schedules.
“They are just separated for work,” another source told the mag. “Andrew is overseas. They are both busy with their careers and have not seen each other.”
Rumors of a potential split cropped up during award season when the 26-year-old fashionista, whose work in “Birdman” earned her several major acting nods, hit various red carpets without her man.
The couple was last publicly photographed together in New York’s West Village in January, just days after Garfield escorted Stone to a Fox Searchlight dinner honoring “Birdman.”
