With Donald Trump’s Walk of Fame star smashed, what other stars have been sullied?
It’s been a rough year for Donald Trump’s Walk of Fame star.
The star, awarded to the reality television star in 2007 for his work producing the Miss Universe pageants and on “The Apprentice,” has been defaced multiple times since Trump announced his presidential campaign in June 2015.
Individuals who take issue with Trump, from his immigration policy to his comments on race to just his personality in general, have acted out upon his Walk of Fame star — scrawling on it, drawing swastikas or mute icons, and leaving a trail of any number of bodily fluids on the 3x3’ square.
But Wednesday morning, one Trump detractor took things to the next level, using a pick-axe and sledgehammer to obliterate the brass inlay of the star .
While no Walk of Fame star has faced quite as much trauma as Trump’s has, it’s far from the only name on the sidewalk that has drawn physical feedback from the public.

In December 2014, as dozens of allegations of sexual assault against Bill Cosby were revealed, his Walk of Fame star was scrawled repeatedly with the word “rapist.” The messages were quickly removed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Even the Olsen twins weren’t immune from Walk of Fame haters when, in 2009, their shared star was defaced with the invective “fur hags!”
The vandalism was likely undertaken by animal rights activists upset with Mary-Kate and Ashley’s collective decision to wear fur, if this 2007 blog post from PETA is any indication.
The phrase was similarly used to deface Aretha Franklin’s star in 2009.
But graffiti bespoiling the Walk of Fame isn’t always crafted by opponents of the star’s recipient.
Just days before what would have been music legend John Lennon’s 73rd birthday in 2013, vandals drew mushrooms and peace signs and smiley faces, as well as messages, on the late singer-songwriter’s star.
While the drawings were certainly more congenial than calling Lennon a fur hag, the star was restored to pristine condition immediately.
