Everyone, breathe a sigh of relief: Demi Lovato has revealed why she unfollowed former BFF Selena Gomez on Twitter.

The million-dollar tidbit came during an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” when Lovato played “Plead the Fifth” with host Andy Cohen on Thursday evening.

“So much speculation about [the unfollowing],” Cohen began, posing the third of three questions after Lovato had answered one and “pled the fifth” on the second. “Can you tell us why?”

“Um, I plead the sixth, if that’s in the game,” she replied, sitting alongside co-guest Jessica Alba. But Cohen didn’t budge. Heck, maybe Alba didn’t either.

“Are people reading too much into it?” Cohen asked. “Are they reading into something that doesn’t exist?”

“I think it’s just one of those things,” the “Really Don’t Care” singer answered, “where people change and people grow apart.”

What do you know, a normal thing that happens to normal people. Who would have thunk it?

The cutting of ties became clear in July when fans noticed that Lovato, 21, had unfollowed Gomez, 22, on Twitter. Being the close watchers they are, fans also pointed out how Lovato reportedly tweeted then deleted a message that she was “Swimming away from” the BS -- a message that was capped with some name-calling.

The tweet marked the second time the former Disney stars had a public fallout. Their friendship hit a rough patch in 2010, but when the pair were photographed together in 2013 days after Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber got arrested on suspicion of DUI, all seemed well.

At the time, Lovato told MTV News, “We’ve had periods of times when we grew apart, and we just didn’t really talk. But now we’re in a place where we realize that life is so short, and that when you have people in your life that love you so much, then you should just always be around them.”

This time around, it seems like one of those we-grew-apart moments.

Separately on Friday, Lovato opened up about her struggle with bipolar disorder in a video debuting her Mental Health Listening & Engagement Tour. It’s a tour that links Lovato, who’s been through rehab and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, to the mental health advocacy community.

“I’ve seen some dark times, especially with the depressive phase of the illness,” the “X Factor” judge revealed in a video on her YouTube channel. “Bipolar depression really got my life off track, but today I’m proud to say I’m living proof that someone can live, love and be well with bipolar disorder when they get the education, support and treatment they need.

“I want to shine a light on the people out there who, like me, are learning to live well with mental illness by getting the right diagnosis and the right treatment plan.”
