Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong of ‘Boy Meets World’ both get married

Boys and girls meet weddings! “Boy Meets World” alums Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong both got married this weekend.

Fishel, one-half of the TV couple that made us believe in high school marriage proposals, married fiance Tim Belusko, 25, on Saturday in a candlelit staircase ceremony at a cathedral and celebrated at downtown Los Angeles’ Vibiana venue, according to Us Weekly.

The 32-year-old will reprise her role as the ultimate girl next door, Topanga Lawrence, in the sitcom’s spinoff, “Girl Meets World,” which will air on the Disney Channel in 2014.

Fishel wore a strapless lace Enzoani gown and was walked down the aisle by her father, Rick Fishel, to “Forever” by Brian Culbertson, People reported. She left her hair down in waves and carried a purple floral bouquet; her bridesmaids wore midnight blue dresses, Us said.

About 200 guests joined the newlyweds for the celebration, which included cocktails in the courtyard. On hand was her “Boy Meets World”/”Girl Meets World” costar Ben Savage, who starred as the titular boy in the family sitcom as all-around good guy, Cory Matthews.

The actress told Us that Savage would always be her “first husband” and Belusko “totally accepts that.”

“He knows that Ben and I have been together for a long time as an on-screen couple,” she said, “and to a certain extent when you’ve been with someone for 20 years like that, it’s impossible to have none of that rub off a little bit in person.”

“Girl Meets World” will follow the exploits of the on-screen couple’s daughter, Riley Matthews, played by Rowan Blanchard.

Fishel announced she was engaged to Belusko in a Tumblr post in December 2012. She also announced that she had gone back to school at age 27 and was “officially a college graduate.” She met Belusko while she was tutoring math.

The actress took to Twitter the day after the wedding to share her excitement and also shut down some naysayers for giving her a hard time about marrying a younger man.

“10/19/13 was one of the most amazing days of my life. The love in the room was palpable and overwhelming in the best way possible. #love,” she wrote.

“People are giving me ... for marrying someone younger than I am. Tim is mature, responsible, loving, & kind. Way to judge people, Internet,” she wrote.

After that, she added a photo of herself smooching her husband with the caption, “People tell you your wedding day is the most amazing day of your life. Wrong. It’s actually better days later. #love”

The happy couple is off to Maui for a honeymoon before Fishel begins filming “Girl Meets World” in November.

One guest noticeably absent from her wedding was her “BMW” costar Rider Strong, who played Cory’s rebellious best friend, Shawn Hunter, when the show aired on ABC between 1993 and 2000. The reason? He was a little busy getting married too!

Strong, 33, got hitched to Alexandra Barreto, 31, in Oregon on Sunday.

“Bad news: Danielle Fishel’s getting married this same weekend, so I’m missing some of my ‘Boy Meets World’ family (that was my fault, she chose the date first),” the actor told Us.

He and Barreto met in 2006 while they working on the short-lived WB dramedy “Pepper Dennis,” which starred Rebecca Romijn. The actor proposed with a ring he made himself just before Christmas last year.

The pair threw a camp-themed fete for their guests, which had them sleeping in bunk beds at a campsite, running rope courses, playing games and participating in a talent show, the mags said.

Barreto wore a Nicole Miller gown and Strong wore a Rag & Bone suit. The bridesmaids donned chambray shirts and skirts handmade by Anjoy Clothing on Etsy, according to Us.

It is still unclear whether Strong will be rejoining the cast for the spinoff.
