Get Daniel Craig while he’s hot, because he’d rather slash his wrists than play 007 again

Good news, bad news: Daniel Craig isn’t hot to play James Bond ever, ever again — but he was hot to take his clothes off in his fourth 007 movie, “Spectre.”

“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” the actor told TimeOut London when he was asked if he could imagine doing another Bond flick. “No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”

Yeah, that sounds like a no. We understand. You had us at “slash my wrists.” He also says, in an interview that’s loaded with profanity from the headline onward, that he cares not one whit who plays Bond next and wouldn’t be caught dead on the set of a future production.

“How ... sad would that be? ‘Oh look, it’s Daniel Craig, he’s on set again!’ No.”

That said, “Spectre” does promise some Daniel Craig-style man candy before he sheds the role entirely — that according to the man candy himself.

“Am I getting my kit off in this movie? Yes, I’ve been working out for six months. Of course I’m getting my kit off!,” he said, possibly making the dude who interviewed him feel like a doofus.

And lest we conflate the actor and the character more than we already have, Craig explained how he and James Bond have a different take on women.

“I think you have to walk a thin line. I think it’s OK for him — not to be misogynistic, that’s too strong a word — to find women a little difficult, shall we say? That’s a character thing,” he said. “If you start judging him completely on that, I think you’re lost. And that comes with casting. What you do is, you do your best to make the parts for the women in the movie as strong and as interesting as possible.

“Otherwise, I’m like: forget it. Because that world, as far as I’m concerned, doesn’t exist anymore. Characters like that exist. People do think like that, so there’s the conflict. Put that in a movie. Bond still wants to have sex .... [with] anything with a pulse. It’s about how the women change him. That, for me, is interesting.”

(Next time, Daniel, let’s discuss how you’ve changed women. Perhaps over martinis? We’re sure Rachel Weisz would understand.)
