Charlie Sheen quits Twitter after 16 months of #winning
Charlie Sheen has quit Twitter. Gone. Finito. “Sorry, that page does not exist.”
Fortunately, as of Friday evening, his Twitpic account was still around, preserving his final message for the ages — or at least until he figures out how to nuke that too.
“reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out,” the “Anger Management” star tweeted around midnight Thursday, captioning a picture shot out the front window of an airplane with a bottle of Tabasco sauce on its dash as it heads off into the wild blue yonder.
Sheen joined the microblogging site in March 2011, right around when he lost his “Two and a Half Men” gig, back in the days of goddesses and #winning and moral turpitude. After only a day in action, his account had almost a million followers, and that total grew to nearly 8 million before he pulled the plug.
The actor’s original Twitter bio? “Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..! (unemployed winner...).”
However, Sheen recently admitted to Rolling Stone magazine that he protested a bit too much about the “winning” thing during his post-”Men” meltdown.
“I mean, how does a guy who’s obviously quicksanded, how does he consider any of it a victory?,” he said. “I was in total denial.”
Why did he leave? And will he be back? We like to think that only the Tabasco knows.
