Avril Lavigne asks fans for prayers as she reveals ‘health issues’

Avril Lavigne hasn’t been feeling well and is asking fans for their prayers.

The “Complicated” singer disclosed that she was “having some health issues” via direct message to Twitter fan account @AvrilMusicChart, which then posted screenshots of the exchange online on Tuesday.

“It’s been like two years since you completed your last album. Are you in the studio right now or working on something?” the tweet said.

“I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them [know] why I’ve been absent. I’m torn as I’m quite private,” the 30-year-old responded. “I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

Lavigne’s rep authenticated the messages to Billboard, but would not elaborate on what the health problems were nor how serious they might be. However, the rep did confirm that the singer isn’t pregnant, as some sites previously speculated.

The singer also showed her gratitude to the fan account after it tweeted the hashtags “#GetWellSoonAvril” and “#PrayForAvril”

“Wanted to say thx to my fans for the support this past year! Here’s a @Spotify playlist from the 2014 tour setlist!” she added.

In September, the petite “I’m With You” and “Hello Kitty” rocker was a victim of this summer’s second wave of celebrity nude photo hack.

Shortly after that, she and her husband, Nickelback rocker Chad Kroeger, whom she wed in a lavish goth-themed wedding in July 2013, had also been targeted in split rumors, but Kroeger put those rumors to bed last month.

“When you get out of high school… All that rumor crap. All that stuff that people say behind each other’s backs is minuscule, pales in comparison to the world of celebrity or being married to a celebrity,” he told “ET Canada.” “That’s high school multiplied exponentially. It’s ridiculous. How many times has [actress] Jennifer Aniston been pregnant this year? A dozen? ... Let’s start a new rumor: I’m pregnant!”

Lavigne’s reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
