Avril Lavigne shows off 17-carat diamond anniversary ring

Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend. Just ask Avril Lavigne, who now has another new rock.

After celebrating her first anniversary with husband Chad Kroeger this week, the Canadian rocker took to Twitter to offer a glimpse of her sparkly sparkler.

“I still can’t believe my 1 year anniversary gift,” the “Hello Kitty” singer wrote Thursday in a tweet that’s since been removed. “17 carat emerald cut. Wow. I love my hubby.” The message was accompanied by a snuggly photo of the pair.

Plus, ring.

Lavigne’s anniversary ring actually contains more carats than her engagement ring. That’s not to say her engagement ring lacks oomph: It’s a 14-carat diamond.

Lavigne, 29, and Kroeger, 39, got engaged in August 2013 after four weeks of dating. The couple tied the knot in a gothic-themed ceremony a month later at an estate in the South of France.

“When you’ve got that ring on your finger that you get to look at every single day, and you get to call that other person husband or wife, it’s a really special feeling,” the Nickelback frontman told Hello magazine around the time of his nuptials.

With rings that big, Lavigne isn’t likely to be singing “See you later, boy” any time soon.
