Ariana Grande could have one less problem now: She and Big Sean have split after dating for about eight months.

The “Problem” singer, 21, and the Detroit rapper, 27, announced their parting of ways in a joint statement issued to the Los Angeles Times on Monday.

“They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends,” the statement said. “We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time.”

Us Weekly reported that the breakup was “quiet” and the relationship ended amicably a few weeks ago. Insiders quoted by the magazine, which was first with the news, chalked up the split to “conflicting touring schedules” that would separate them for the next year.

The petite powerhouse and the “Blessings” emcee, who collaborated on “Big Mistake,” took their time in confirming their relationship despite being spotted together on numerous occasions and making cameos on one another’s social media accounts.

The pair was outed at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards last August when they were spotted holding hands backstage; they finally confirmed the romance that October. In February, they took it high-profile with a sweet joint appearance on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
