Alec Baldwin, Ireland Baldwin mock ‘rude, thoughtless little pig’ voice mail
What a difference eight years makes! Alec Baldwin and Ireland Baldwin had some fun on Instagram on Monday mocking the infamous angry voicemail from him to her that surfaced in early 2007 during the "30 Rock" actor's custody dispute with Kim Basinger.
As the father and his 19-year-old child cozy up and read from a children's book titled "If I Were a Pig ..." — presumably a story intended for either or both of his young kids with current wife Hilaria Baldwin — the caption says, "... I'd be rude and thoughtless. That's the only pig to be."
The mood was hardly that light back when Ireland was 11 and her dad was furious over a phone situation in which she apparently wasn't answering his calls when they had made an appointment to speak at a certain time. In a voice mail message, he raged that she had humiliated him for the last time and that he was going to fly out to the West Coast for one day to "straighten" her out.
"So you better be ready ... to meet with me. I'm going to let you know just how I feel about what a rude little pig you really are," he said in the message, obtained by TMZ. "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."
The actor's rep told People at the time that his client "acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child" but that "everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years" during his divorce from and custody battle with Basinger.
Apparently, he's been more than forgiven by the person who matters ...
