Adam Levine is People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ 2013; fiancee laughs
Adam Levine, frontman for Maroon 5 and coach on “The Voice,” has been named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2013, stepping into the spot held last year by Channing Tatum.
Levine’s appointment to the post was revealed on “The Voice” on Tuesday night, with host Carson Daly flashing a copy of the magazine with Levine’s mug out front, earning screams from the studio audience and applause from costar Blake Shelton.
“It’s hard to talk about it because you feel like you owe it to be kind of self-deprecating about it because it is an iconic thing, but also silly,” Levine told the mag. “I’m not going to comment on anything other than it’s really flattering and I feel lucky.”

Levine’s fiancee, model Behati Prinsloo, no sexy slouch herself, reacted to the news with “laughter, a lot of laughter,” he said.
News that Levine was the 2013 choice actually leaked last week, thanks to Gossip Cop, which also had the Tatum pick early. People picked Bradley Cooper as its cover boy in 2011 and Ryan Reynolds in 2010.
Before the pick was official, however, the tattooed singer spoke with “Access Hollywood,” speculating on what it would be like if he were the guy.
“There is no way that [I’ll] ever be able to live it down. I’m going to be getting pranked by everyone, if it does happen ... I’m going to be getting pranked by every single person I know!”
And it sounded as if “The Voice” costar Christina Aguilera was going to be first in line.
“If it happens, I got a good prank. I got a good one,” she said. “I’m actually going to pull pranks. I’m going to have like ‘Christina’s Weekly Prank’ that I’m going to pull every week.”
