Producer Dan Auerbach, rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West and British alt-country band Mumford & Sons also received six nominations as a much younger vibe flowed through the selection of contenders than has in previous years. See the complete list of nominees here.
The eligibility period for this year’s pool of nominees was Oct. 1, 2011, through Sept. 30, 2012.
The show, which takes place at the Staples Center, will be broadcast live on CBS on the East Coast from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will air on the West Coast on tape delay from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
