Emmys 2013: Jake Johnson, Don Cheadle reveal embarrassing moments
Being a television star isn’t all wine and roses — at times, it can even be a bit embarrassing. Just ask Jake Johnson of “New Girl” or Don Cheadle of “House of Lies,” two of the participants at a recent Envelope Emmy Roundtable on the subject of TV comedy.
“They make me dance a lot,” Johnson said of his role on “New Girl” as the aimless but lovable bartender Nick Miller. “I really don’t like to. I’m not very good at it.”

Johnson recalled one painful scene in which he danced to the Taylor Swift song “22” for 45 minutes. “The song’s on repeat and the crew is 50 deep of guys you’re working with all the time, and you’re trying to hold a little faith and then you’re sweating … It’s humiliating!”
Asked to share his own embarrassing moment, Cheadle said, “I have to do it every couple weeks it seems like: I’m getting out of clothes, it seems like all the time on that show.” He added, “It’s uncomfortable, but it’s an occupational hazard.”
Fellow panelist Mindy Kaling (“The Mindy Project”) said she’s noticed “a lot more male nudity” on TV in recent years. Her theory: “Awkward male half-nudity is somewhat funny.”
