Emmys 2012: Bryan Cranston discusses Walter White’s trip to hell

Heads up, children of Los Angeles. The man you see running through your neighborhood may be dangerous. Or he may be Emmy nominee Bryan Cranston.

“I’m going for a run after this call,” he told The Times on Thursday morning after he’d received his fourth Emmy nomination for”Breaking Bad.”(It’s his seventh overall.) “I’m blowing off some steam. I’m going to sweat and cheer loudly and probably scare children along the way.”

Every time Cranston has been nominated for his role as the meth-cooking former high school teacher Walter White he’s won. So he can afford to be relaxed a bit about the award process.

“I’m very fatalistic,” he said. “Whatever happens happens.”

“Breaking Bad” just started airing its final season, and though the end is still a year away, Cranston still offered his thoughts on what his character would be going through.

“He evolves,” Cranston said. “He is spiraling into hell. There’s no redemption. There’s no turning back. There’s no asking for forgiveness. The egregious acts that he has committed are beyond forgivenes, and he has dragged everyone down with him, sacrified his soul.”

As for his own immediate future, Cranston has a full plate. Besides a role in the sci-fi action blockbuster “Total Recall,”he’s got the Ben Affleck movie “Argo.” He’s going to be directing upcoming episodes of”The Office” and”Modern Family.”
