Emmy chat: Michael Kelly of ‘House of Cards’ knows Doug Stamper is creepy
For a guy who never stops smiling, Michael Kelly sometimes scares people. (The reactions he gets on elevators can be hilarious). But it’s not Kelly who’s actually creeping people out, it’s his alter ego, Doug Stamper, the — well, creepy — political aide to Frank Underwood on the Netflix series “House of Cards.”
You don’t want to get too close to that guy.
Kelly stopped by The Times to chat about Doug’s journey almost into another person in Season 3, the torturous way he found out about the nominations and shooting the upcoming Universal Pictures film “Everest.” Take a listen to what he had to say in the video above.
