TV ratings: CBS’ ‘NCIS’ wins night; ‘Agent Carter’ has decent debut
ABC’s “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is off to a decent start in TV ratings.
The premiere, which aired from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., drew in 6.9-million viewers and a 1.9 rating in the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic, according to Nielsen.
The show, set in 1946, is the latest small-screen venture from comic book entertainment powerhouse Marvel. Hayley Atwell reprises her role as spy Peggy Carter from the “Captain America” films.
ABC is also home to “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” However, “Carter” was down 60% from last year’s “S.H.I.E.L.D” premiere.
The network reported that the drama delivered its best 18-to-49-year-old rating in the two-hour time slot in more than a year.
Also on the network, “Forever” averaged 4.9-million viewers and stayed even with its last original episode with a rating of 1.1 in the key demo.
With 6.2-million viewers and a rating of 1.6 in the key demo, ABC was the second most-watched network of the night.
CBS was No. 1 in both the key demo (with a rating of 2.3) and overall (with 15.6-million viewers). The network delivered its largest Tuesday audience of the season.
“NCIS” averaged 19.5-million viewers and a rating of 2.8, the show’s largest audience since Feb. 4.
“NCIS: New Orleans,” which followed, came in second with 17.4-million viewers and a rating of 2.5 in the key demo. It was up 32% from its most recent original episode on Dec. 16.
“Person of Interest” delivered its largest audience since Sept. 30 with about 10-million viewers. It posted a rating of 1.7 in the key demo, tying with NBC’s “Chicago Fire.”
NBC was fifth in the key demo with a rating of 1.1. It averaged 3.8-million viewers, making it fourth most-watched network overall.
“Chicago Fire” averaged 6.7-million viewers. “Marry Me” was down 33% from its most original episode on Dec. 9 with a rating of 0.8 in the key demo. It was the lowest rating yet. It pulled in 2-million viewers.
“About a Boy” also fell 11% from its Dec. 9 episode. It averaged 2.7-million viewers overall.
Meanwhile, on Fox, the premiere of “Masterchef Junior” posted a 1.8 in the key demo, its highest rating in nearly two months. It averaged 5.3-million viewers.
“New Girl” stayed even with its most recent original episode with a rating of 1.5 in the key demo and 3.2-million viewers. “The Mindy Project” posted a rating of 1.0 in the key demo.
