TV ratings: Andy Samberg’s ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ rises in season finale
Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” which won two surprise Golden Globes in January, rose in the ratings Tuesday as the comedy’s first season came to a close.
The cop series starring Andy Samberg drew 2.6 million viewers, up 4% from last week, according to early numbers from Nielsen. More importantly, it garnered a rating of 1.3 among key 18-to-49-year-olds, which is up 18% from its last episode. Still that’s down more than a point from the show’s premiere in September.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was renewed for a second season earlier this month.

Fox’s other two originals, “Glee” and “New Girl,” were essentially flat from a week ago at a 1.2 and 1.3, respectively, in the 18-49 category, in which a ratings point equals about 1.3 million viewers.
NBC’s “The Voice” was again Tuesday night’s top show in the key young-adults demographic with the fourth night of “battles.” The show, now in its sixth cycle, drew a 3.3 in 18-49, down 8% from a week ago, and it delivered 12.3 million viewers overall.
Coming out of the big “Voice” lead-in, NBC’s new comedies remained relatively steady. “About a Boy” notched a 2.0 in the 18-49 demo, down a tenth of a point, while “Growing Up Fisher” earned a 1.7, also down a tenth.

CBS was the the top-rated broadcaster of the night, propelled by Tuesday’s two overall most-watched shows, “NCIS” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Both increased 4% from last week in the key demographic, to a 2.5 and a 2.4 each. “Person of Interest” surged 18% to a 2.0. CBS averaged 15 million viewers total and a 2.3 in 18-49 in prime time.
Without any other original shows in the ABC lineup, “Mind Games” dropped a tenth of a point to a 0.6, lower than a rerun of NBC’s “Chicago Fire.”
After a rerun of CW’s “The 100” premiere, “Supernatural” scored a 0.9 in 18-49, flat from last week, and increased 13% week-to-week to 2.1 million total viewers.
