Showtime promotes entertainment chief David Nevins to president
Showtime entertainment chief David Nevins has been promoted to president of the pay-TV channel.
Nevins, who as president of entertainment gave the green light to Showtime’s successful dramas “Homeland” and “Ray Donovan,” will now have oversight over the network’s sports unit as well its marketing, creative and digital divisions.
The promotion to the newly created position is part of a new contract Nevins signed with Showtime that runs through 2018. He will continue to report to Showtime Chairman and Chief Executive Matt Blank.
In a statement, Blank said Nevins’ 2010 arrival at Showtime led to “an incredible period of renewal for our network.”
Before joining Showtime, Nevins was president of Imagine Television, the TV unit of Imagine Entertainment, which is headed by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.
