“Fast & Furious” actor Paul Walker died in a car crash after attending an event to benefit Reach Out WorldWide, the charity he founded. Now that organization will benefit from home entertainment sales of “Fast & Furious 6,” in which Walker co-starred, Universal Pictures said on Tuesday.

A percentage of the proceeds from the movie, the latest in the “Fast & Furious” series, will be donated to the nonprofit. The action film, which also stars the likes of Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson, will be released Dec. 10 on DVD, Blu-ray, digital and on-demand.

Walker started Reach Out WorldWide, a network of skilled volunteers that helps with response efforts in the wake of disasters, after earthquakes devastated Haiti in January 2010.

“With the passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others,” said Donna Langley, chairwoman of Universal Pictures. “We keep Paul’s memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of Reach Out WorldWide.”

Walker, 40, died with a friend in the firey crash Saturday in Santa Clarita. Walker’s family has asked that people donate to the organization instead of sending flowers or gifts.
