Movie-goers are ready to marvel at “Guardians of the Galaxy” this weekend, according to early Fandango ticket sales.

Fandango, the nation’s largest online ticket company, said on Wednesday that the upcoming Marvel Studios blockbuster is poised to be the biggest August pre-seller in the company’s history.

James Gunn’s sci-fi action film, starring Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Zoe Saldana, captured 93% of this weekend’s ticket sales on Fandango and scored 94 out of 100 points on the company’s “fanticipation” movie buzz indicator.

“In a year filled with sequels and remakes, ‘Guardians’ feels fresher and more fun than any superhero movie so far this year,“ said Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger in a statement.

After surveying more than 1,000 “Guardians” ticket-buyers, Fandango determined that 95% of those surveyed are attracted to the film’s off-the-wall humor.

Already, 80% of those surveyed said they are interested in seeing additional “Guardians” movies even though 58% said they were previously unfamiliar with the “Guardians” comic books.

“Fans are craving the film’s originality and that’s translating to stellar advance ticket sales for a franchise first,” Karger said.

About 85% of those surveyed said they are looking forward to seeing Pratt in his breakout role as Peter Quill (“Star-Lord”).

The 2-hour film will hit theaters Friday.
