The Los Angeles Philharmonic gave a sneak preview of its 2016 season at the Hollywood Bowl, dealing star pianists Lang Lang, Yuja Wang and Jean-Yves Thibaudet as face-up cards while keeping the exact programs and dates hidden until the formal season announcement in February.

Lang will play Tchaikovsky, and Wang stars on a Gershwin and Ravel program, both with music director Gustavo Dudamel leading the Phil. Thibaudet will be part of an all-Beethoven program led by Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, the Phil’s assistant conductor.

The orchestral series will be presented Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Phil said. The sneak peak coincided with the beginning of a renewal period for subscribers this week. Sales of new subscriptions and group tickets won’t start until Feb. 9.

The Phil also let it slip that pianist Garrick Ohlsson will be returning to the Bowl, and violinists Nicola Benedetti and Arabella Steinbacher and pianist Francesco Piemontesi will make their Bowl debuts.

Conductor Nicholas McGegan will mark the 20th anniversary of his own Bowl debut, joined by mezzo-soprano Susan Graham singing Handel, and Bramwell Tovey’s programs will be inspired by Shakespeare and film classics.

Andrew Manze conducts a program of Beethoven and Schubert, and a new violin concerto by Wynton Marsalis will be featured in a program lead by Cristian Macelaru.

The only firm dates announced are for pops events. The rock band Chicago joins the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by its principal conductor, Thomas Wilkins, for fireworks concerts July 2-4; a singalong “Sound of Music” concert will be June 24; smooth summer jazz will be Aug. 28; and “The Big Picture” movie night will be Sept. 4.
