Benedict Cumberbatch in ‘Hamlet’: Where to watch it in Southern California
Fans of Benedict Cumberbatch who missed out on tickets to his London stage performance in “Hamlet” will have the opportunity to catch the British actor in Shakespeare’s most famous play starting Thursday, when the National Theatre Live simulcasts the production to cinemas around the world.
“Hamlet,” which is running at the Barbican in London, will be shown live in some time zones, but in Southern California, audiences will watch a delayed transmission of the performance on Thursday evening.
NT Live will also present encore screenings of the performance in the months ahead.

Cumberbatch plays Shakespeare’s Danish prince alongside Ciaran Hinds as Claudius, Anastasia Hille as Gertrude, Jim Norton as Polonius and Sian Brooke as Ophelia. Lyndsey Turner directs the production.
The London run, which is set to conclude Oct. 31, received mixed reviews from critics, but that hasn’t stopped Cumberbatch’s many fans from gobbling up tickets. The running time of the production is expected to be about four hours, including an intermission.
