‘The Crown’ has come to an end. Here’s a guide to the series and its major moments
“The Crown,” the Netflix series that has centered on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, has come to an end with Season 6. The final season was split into two parts, with Part 2 being released on Dec. 14.
Part 1 focuses on the relationship between Diana, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Fayed, and the aftermath of their deaths. The series stars Elizabeth Debicki as Diana and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi. It also takes a closer look at William’s time in college at St. Andrews, where he meets Kate Middleton, whom he would later marry. The series culminates with Charles’ marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, and a contemplative Queen Elizabeth.
The historical drama, which premiered in 2016, depicts the life of Queen Elizabeth from her marriage to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh to 2005, when Charles married Camilla. The series was created by Peter Morgan, who wrote or co-wrote every episode. The cast changed three times, and the featured actors included Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Corrin, Josh O’Connor, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville and Olivia Williams.
