Here is the 2021 Tony Awards winners list
“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” is the big winner at the 74th Tony Awards, with ten wins from its 14 nominations. “Jagged Little Pill” picked up two Tonys, including one for Diablo Cody for best book of a musical. In play categories, “A Christmas Carol” leads with five wins, mostly in craft categories, while Matthew Lopez’s “The Inheritance” emerged as something of a surprise with wins for best play, actors Lois Smith and Andrew Burnap as well as for director Stephen Daldry.
Audra McDonald hosted a two-hour awards ceremony streaming on Paramount+, which is now being followed by Leslie Odom Jr. hosting “The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back!” — a two-hour live concert event featuring Broadway entertainers on CBS. The three top awards — best play, best play revival and best musical — will end the event, staged at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre.
In the streamed version of the awards, individual musical numbers were performed by Jennifer Holliday, Jennifer Nettles and 2019 Tony winner Ali Stroker. On the “Broadway’s Back” special, group performances from “Tina — The Tina Turner Musical,” “Jagged Little Pill” and “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” were among the productions that graced the stage.
These are the winners for this year’s Tony Awards.
