Bebe Rexha’s all ‘good’ after concertgoer hurled phone at her face during N.Y. show
Bebe Rexha is on the mend, just hours after she was hit in the face with a cellphone while performing Sunday in New York.
In an Instagram post shared Monday morning, the singer showed off stitches above her left eyebrow and a black eye. A second photo showed the graphic injuries left on her face by the impact.
“Im good,” the “I’m Good (Blue)” singer reassured fans in the caption.

Bebe Rexha, 33, whose legal name is Bleta Rexha, became the latest target of unruly concertgoer behavior Sunday night during a New York stop on her Best F*n Night of My Life tour. While the “Meant to Be” singer was performing at the Rooftop at Pier 17, a concertgoer hurled their phone at her and hit her right in the face, according to footage posted on Twitter.
After the phone made contact, Rexha stopped singing and went down to her knees as her team and concert crew came onstage to check on her. Another Twitter video shared Sunday evening showed Rexha covering her eye and being escorted away from the stage by a medical team. As the Grammy-nominated entertainer waved to fans, attendees cheered for her.
A 27-year-old New Jersey man, identified as Nicolas Malvagna, was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly throwing his phone at the singer, the New York Police Department confirmed Monday to The Times.
The alleged incident at the L.A. Phil’s recent Tchaikovsky performance stirred up memes and T-shirts. It also opened a conversation about music’s potential to inspire varied responses.
Police were notified of an assault at Pier 17 at approximately 10 p.m. Eastern time, an NYPD spokesperson said in a statement. Malvagna was taken into custody and removed from the premises. Rexha was transported by emergency medical services to a hospital and was in stable condition.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident, the statement said.
Last year, several artists were hit onstage by various objects thrown by concertgoers. In July, rapper Kid Cudi cut his Rolling Loud set short after attendees kept throwing water bottles his way.
While performing in Chicago in October, Harry Styles doubled over in pain after a water bottle from the crowd hit him in the groin. People have also thrown chicken nuggets and candy at the “Harry’s House” artist.

Rexha shared her recovery on TikTok, telling followers “Im okay you guys 💖.”
In a short clip, she sang the chorus of her Eiffel 65 cover — released earlier this year with David Guetta — as she removed large sunglasses to reveal her stitches.
“I’m good, yeah I’m feelin’ alright,” she sang as she smiled.
Bebe Rexha has been on the road promoting her latest album “Bebe.” She comes to the Wiltern in Los Angeles on June 30.
