David Spade sells his Malibu beach house
After several outings fishing for buyers, actor David Spade has parted with his beach house in Malibu.
The sales price has yet to appear in public records, but Zillow reports the La Costa Beach two-story sold for $10.25 million.
Built in 1996, the house features a cylindrical staircase, four fireplaces and beach-facing balconies and decks. The four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home of more than 3,700 square feet sits on a quarter-acre lot with a pool.
Spade, 49, starred as single friend Russell on the romantic comedy “Rules of Engagement” (2007-13) and is in the recently released film “Grown Ups 2.” Among his notable skits from his 1990s “Saturday Night Live” days, Spade played a receptionist repeatedly asking, “And you are?” and a flight attendant who utters “buh-bye” as passengers disembark.
Public records show that Spade bought the Malibu property in 2005 for $9.3 million. He listed it two years later for $16 million and subsequently put it up for lease.
The sale closed outside the Multiple Listing Service.
