Grumpy Cat and feline friends debut new online cat video in Hollywood
A who’s who of famous Internet cats descended upon Hollywood on Tuesday, led by Grumpy Cat, the perpetually sullen-looking feline.
Oskar the Blind Cat, Colonel Meow and Nala Cat were also on hand, and Hamilton the Hipster Cat Skyped in for the event at Capitol Records.
The cats gathered to unveil a music video, “Hard to Be a Cat at Christmas,” starring all five cats and produced by Friskies.

The cat food maker will donate one can of wet food for every view of the music video, up to 500,000 views, in the largest one-time donation in the brand’s history. The cans will go to cat charities chosen by the five cats’ owners and include the Humane Society Silicon Valley, the Cat Welfare Assn. and Purrfect Pals.
Actress Angela Kinsey hosted Tuesday’s event, where the cats were paraded out in front of a room full of reporters and photographers yelling, “Grumpy Cat! Look this way!” “Over here!” and “Open your eyes Grumpy Cat!”
Despite the commotion -- including an appearance by Santa Claus -- the cats kept their cool as they posed for photos and were held by Santa.
“We created an unexpected, original song and music video to bring the issue of wet cat food for all cats to the forefront of owners’ minds in a way that’s never been done before,” said Shawn Brain, Friskies brand manager.
No word yet on whether the kitties will go on tour.
