Waze traffic incident reports coming to Google Maps
Google has begun integrating features from Waze, the social navigating app it bought this summer, into Google Maps, starting with the addition of traffic incident reports.
Now, when Waze users report road incidents that may cause delays, the incidents will also show up on the Google Maps apps for the iPhone and Android devices. These incidents include accidents, construction, road closures and more.
Real-time incident reports is Waze’s signature feature, giving users the best route based on current road conditions. The feature will come with an update to the Google Maps app starting Tuesday.

The feature will be available to users in the U.S., as well as Argentina, Brazil, Britain, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Switzerland.
Waze, which Google bought for nearly $1 billion, announced that, conversely, it has begun to integrate Google tools into its app. Waze said its iPhone and Android device apps have been updated to include Google Search.
Additionally, Waze said its map editor feature, used to update the Waze map, has been revised to include Google Street View imagery. This integration should make it easier for editors to update changes.
