Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig makes $1.8 million splash in Sherman Oaks
Rising Dodgers star Yasiel Puig is eschewing the bright lights of L.A. for a home in the Valley.
The dynamic outfielder, who previously made his home in a downtown luxury loft, has paid $1.8 million for a gated Mediterranean-style residence in Sherman Oaks.
Set behind tall palms and a privacy wall, the two-story home is entered through a foyer with a domed skylight and sweeping, wrought iron staircase. The 4,663 square feet of living space includes a chef’s kitchen, large formal spaces, a den, six bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Among highlights is a family room complete with custom built-ins, a fireplace and an aquarium. The master suite is outfitted with his and hers closets, a fireplace, a sitting area and a balcony overlooking the pool.
Outdoors, the backyard space is anchored by a pool and spa with a water feature. Elsewhere, an outdoor barbecue station sports a large bar and a wine refrigerator.
Brian Pane of Wish Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Patricia Billings of Pinnacle Estate Properties represented Puig in the sale, which was first reported by Variety.
Puig, 24, followed up his breakout rookie year by batting .296 with 16 home runs and 92 runs scored in 2014 while making his first all-star team. He also owns property in Miami.
