Comedian-actor-talk show host Whoopi Goldberg has listed a house with a Hollywood history for sale in Pacific Palisades at $8.795 million. The residence was also once the home of actor David Niven.

Designed for grand-scale entertaining, the 1933 house retains such period features as the marble checkerboard-pattern foyer floor, built-ins and the onyx-clad master bathroom. The 7,039 square feet of living space include living, dining and family rooms, a library, six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Flagstone surrounds the irregularly shaped swimming pool.

But one can only imagine the living and partying that might have gone on within these brick walls. A tall gate blocks any view from the street, and the listing photos show empty rooms save for some books still on the library shelves.

The multitalented Goldberg, 62, has won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards. She landed her Oscar for her acting in the 1990 film “Ghost.” She has been on “The View” as a co-host since 2007.

Niven, who died in 1983 at 73, was in such films as “Around the World in 80 Days,” “The Pink Panther” and “Separate Tables,” for which he won an Oscar for best actor.

The property last changed hands in 1993 for $2,547,520, public records show. It had sold a decade before for $1.4 million.

David Mossler of Douglas Elliman is the listing agent.
