DJ Steve Angello spins off a home in the Hollywood Hills
Steve Angello, the DJ and record producer of Swedish House Mafia fame, has sold his home in the Hollywood Hills for about $5.045 million.
Angello bought the 1940s home four years ago from composer-musician Tom Rothrock for $3.9 million and made mostly cosmetic changes to the 6,010 square feet of interior. Among details of note are 18-foot ceilings in the living room, contemporary fixtures, chandeliers and a mix of subdued hues. Walls of windows frame canyon and city views.
A two-story music room features a recording studio on the second level. In the kitchen, which centers on a broad, black-hued island, pocketing doors open to the backyard. There are four bedrooms and five bathrooms including a guest suite with a separate entrance.
Outdoors, the third-of-an-acre lot holds a swimming pool, patio space and an outdoor shower. A motor court sits beyond the gated entrance.
Angello, 35, quickly gained traction in the music scene in late 2004 with his remix of the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams.” As part of the Swedish House Mafia, the DJ has co-produced such htis as “Save the World,” “Greyhound” and “Miami 2 Ibiza.”
He is the founder and owner of Size Records and its sister label X.
Gary Gold of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, was the listing agent. Joshua and Matthew Altman of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer. The exact sale price was $5,044,950.
