Kyle Richards buys desert retreat for $2.35 million
Kyle Richards of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and her husband, luxury real estate agent Mauricio Umansky, have bought a getaway in La Quinta for $2.35 million.
Entered through glass-and-iron gates, the custom home looks out at the mountains and a fairway of a Pete Dye-designed golf course.
An over-the-top whole-house stereo system includes 10 televisions, 28 speakers and six control pads, according to listing details.
Among rooms in the 5,843 square feet of living space are a den/office, a gym, living and family rooms, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Electric pocket doors open to a patio with an overhang and a built-in barbecue. A guest casita, a swimming pool with a waterfall and a spa complete the quarter-acre grounds.
All those upgrades didn’t come cheap. The onetime foreclosure, built in 2008, previously sold in 2011 for $1.3 million.
Richards, 45, has been on the “Real Housewives” reality show since 2010. During that time, the actress has been in a couple of TV movies and on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”
Umansky also has been on “Housewives.”
An “average Joe” buyer putting $822,500 (35%) down and financing $1,527,500 would have monthly payments of about $7,400 at a 4.15% fixed rate for 30 years, according to Foothill Ranch-based independent lender loanDepot. Kyle and Umansky put more down, financing $1.35 million.
The couple owns another home in Bel-Air.
Janine Stevens of Windermere Real Estate was the listing agent. Umanksy of The Agency represented Richards and himself, pocketing a 2.5% commission/discount ($58,750) in the process.
