Joshua Gomez of ‘Chuck’ fame sells Midcentury Modern showplace for top dollar

Joshua Gomez of “Chuck” fame and his wife, Amy Pham, have sold their Midcentury Modern showplace in Tarzana for $2.7 million -- 35% above its listing price of $1.997 million.

The couple restored and upgraded the Harry Gesner-designed Kimball House or the so-called Triangle House, as it was described in the listing in reference to the recurring shape used in the structure. California architect Gesner is noted for his modernist work and visionary style.

The 1.3-acre lot is entered through a huge gray-and-orange-accented gate, designed in keeping with the triangle motif. To one side of the long driveway is a trapezoid-shaped carport with a rooftop deck.

Beyond the 4,600-square-foot house are a swimming pool, outdoor dining and lounging areas, fountains and a guesthouse that is a miniature of the main residence.

A sunken den with a fireplace, a media/family room, a breakfast bar in the open-plan kitchen, a wine cellar, a workshop, a sauna, three bedrooms and six bathrooms are among the living spaces. Furnishings and treatments create a retro 1960s vibe.

Walls of glass take in views of the surrounding trees.

Gomez, 39, has appeared in the series “Without a Trace” and “Invasion.” He stars in the upcoming TV movie “Ellen More or Less.”

The property previously sold in 2010 for $935,000.
