Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III lists Georgia estate for $5.15 million
PGA golfer and 2016 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III, who last week became the third-oldest tour winner with a victory at the Wyndham Championship, has listed his home in St. Simons Island, Ga., for sale at $5.15 million.
Known as Sinclair Farms, the equestrian estate sits on more than five acres with a 10,253-square-foot main house, a horse barn, stables and 354 feet of marsh frontage.
Reached by a meandering drive, the plantation-style house is distinguished by a pitched roof, dormer windows and brick arches on the main level. A wraparound porch with dual staircases extends off the second story of the Lamar Webb-designed home.
Raised ceilings, wrought iron accents and wood floors and paneling lend a rustic touch to the floor plan. Among living spaces are formal living and dining rooms, a great room, a wine cellar, a gun room, five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.
An elevator services each of the home’s three floors.
Outdoors, grounds topped by mature oaks and palms include large expanses of grass and a swimming pool and spa. A covered cabana with a tall brick fireplace sits adjacent to the pool.
Love, 51, turned pro in 1985 and has 21 wins on the PGA Tour, including one major, the 1997 PGA Championship. In February, he was named U.S. captain for the Ryder Cup for the second time in his career.
Patrick Dunn of Sea Island Properties is the listing agent.
