Actor Damon Wayans buys a place in Hancock Park with plenty of room for the whole family

We can guess where Damon Wayans will be holding family gatherings this year. The Wayans family actor has bought a compound in Hancock Park for $5.35 million.

Built in 1949 and extensively updated, the compound includes a main house, a guesthouse, a salt-water swimming pool, a pool house, stretches of lawn and mature trees on nearly half an acre.

The Traditional-style main residence opens to a towering two-story entry. The open-plan space is bathed in natural light. A formal living room features a black honed-marble fireplace and two bay windows. A breakfast room off the kitchen is outfitted with custom built-ins. The family/media room, which also has a fireplace, opens to the backyard.

The master suite features a deck for a total of five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two powder rooms and close to 5,000 square feet of living space on the site.

The guesthouse has vaulted beam ceilings. The ivy-covered pool house contains a gym. Security cameras monitor the property.

Wayans, 55, is one of 10 siblings and has four children. He got his start in stand-up and created the comedy “In Living Color” in 1990 with his brother Keenan Wayans. He starred in the comic films “Major Payne” (1995) and “Blankman” (1994) as well as the series “My Wife and Kids” (2001-05).

The property previously sold four years ago for $3.075 million.
