49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick buys New York condo for $3.21 million
Putting his home in San Jose on the market isn’t the only move Colin Kaepernick is making these days. Earlier this year, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback paid $3.21 million for a condominium in the TriBeCa area of New York City, property records show.
The purchase, which closed in July, was made using the same trust that holds the Bay Area property. Kaepernick’s sister, Devon, is listed as the trustee.
The 1,733-square-foot unit has vaulted ceilings, solid wood doors and wide-plank wood flooring. Oversized windows take in views from three exposures.
A contemporary kitchen, a living room, an office, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms are among the living areas. The master bathroom sports custom teak vanities and a whirlpool tub.
Kaepernick in October restructured his contract with the 49ers, a move that allows him to opt out of his current deal and become a free agent at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old began the year behind Blaine Gabbert but regained the starting job in Week 6. In seven games, he has 1,440 yards passing and 373 yards rushing.
