Trump advisor Carla Sands seeks $18 million for her oceanfront Malibu mansion
Carla Sands, chief executive of Vintage Capital and widow of late Los Angeles real estate mogul Fred Sands, is ready for a change of pace.
The Donald Trump advisor, whom the president recently nominated as the U.S. ambassador to Denmark, has listed her villa in Malibu for $17.995 million.
The modern five-bedroom home on Broad Beach is entered by a courtyard with a fountain. A formal dining room leads to a great room with high ceilings, while a gourmet kitchen with an island sits adjacent.
Vanishing pocket doors give way to the backyard and ocean views extending up and down the coastline. Stone steps lead from the patio, which has a cabana and fire pit, to the shore below.
A steel-and-Caesarstone floating staircase leads to the second story, where wood floors line an office and fitness area.
The master suite features a Picasso-inspired bathtub, a triple-headed shower and its own private sitting area. A spacious balcony is accessed through glass doors.
In addition, the 7,442-square-foot house is outfitted with the Crestron smart-home system and a three-car garage.
Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and Linda May of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, hold the listing.
Sands bought the home with her late husband in 2013, The Times previously reported.
After Fred Sands’ death in 2015, Carla replaced him as the CEO of Vintage Capital, which has over $150 million in assets. She joined Trump’s economic advisory council in 2016 and also serves on the board of the California Cultural and Historical Endowment.
