Eagle Rock named second ‘hottest’ neighborhood in U.S.
Move over Silver Lake and Los Feliz. Eagle Rock has the buzz this year, according to a new report.
Eagle Rock was named the second “hottest” neighborhood in the United States by real estate brokerage firm Redfin. The list measures “the greatest growth in popularity over the last four months” based on page views and Realtor comments, according to Redfin.

This list is composed of lesser-known neighborhoods with easy commutes to nearby cities. Other notable L.A.-area communities, according to Redfin, include: Playa del Rey, Sierra Madre Canyon, Verdugo Woodlands and Hillside.
“Like the actress who was nominated for 18 Emmys before finally winning, these are the Susan Luccis of neighborhoods, finally getting their due,” said Glenn Kelman, Redfin’s chief executive.
The number of Eagle Rock page views jumped 128% year-over-year, according to Redfin. The median sales price is $539,000.
Nationally, other buzz-worthy neighborhoods include Desert Shores in Las Vegas, Phinney Ridge in Seattle and Concordia in Portland. The No. 1 spot went to Bernal Heights North Slope in San Francisco.
Making the list may -- or may not -- be good news if you live in any of these communities. But it’s probably not so good if you’re trying to buy a home and the list adds to a neighborhood’s buzz.
