Grab the tissues and watch ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ trailer
John Green’s novel “The Fault in Our Stars” was a huge bestseller, so it’s no surprise that a film adaptation is coming to movie screens. The film is scheduled for a June release; its first official trailer was posted online today.
In the book, Hazel meets Gus in a cancer support group for teens. The film stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel and Ansel Elgort as Gus, with Laura Dern and Willem Dafoe. As the trailer begins, Hazel says, “I believe we have a choice in this world about how to tell sad stories.” And the clips that follow show how “The Fault in Our Stars” will be told on film.
Anyone who follows Green’s tumblr has been seeing news of the film as it’s gone through development and production. But as he writes, this is “The full #tfios trailer in beautiful high definition!”
[For the Record, 4:21p.m. PST Jan. 29: An earlier version of this post misspelled Willem Dafoe’s name as “Defoe.”]
