Hennesey + Ingalls to close Hollywood store
Hennessey + Ingalls, a bookstore focused on the visual arts, architecture and design, will close its Hollywood location, it announced Tuesday. Its original store, in Santa Monica, will remain open.
The store is at Space 15 Twenty, 1520 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Suite 8. Other stores in Space 15 Twenty, where Hennessey + Ingalls has been for six years and holds events like pompon-making workshops and a floral-arranging pop-up shop, include Urban Outfitters, Pharmacy Board Shop and Umami Burger.
The Hollywood bookshop has marked down all stock by 10%; the sale will continue until the store’s closing Sunday.
Hennessey +Ingalls first opened in Santa Monica in 1963. In addition to everyday customers, it serves architectural firms, museums, art galleries, collectors, graphic designers and interior designers, artists and students in those fields. “We are the primary book supplier to three large academic art libraries in Southern California,” their website notes, adding, “The broadness of our collections and the knowledge of our staff have Hennessey + Ingalls an important stop for art directors in film, television, and advertising.”
The Santa Monica branch of Hennessey + Ingalls is at 214 Wilshire Blvd.
