Amy Poehler is the latest comedian/actress to be publishing a book. The as-yet-untitled memoir will be published by It Books in 2014.

Poehler will write an “illustrated, non-linear diary,” according to the Associated Press. There’s more from It Books’ news release: “An illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons, the book will be a unique and engaging experience from one of today’s most talented and beloved stars.”

Poehler is the versatile Saturday Night Live star who has gone on to anchor her own prime-time comedy, “Parks and Recreation,” and appear in feature films like “Baby Mama” and the upcoming indie pic “A.C.O.D.” She recently co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards with Tina Fey.

Fey’s memoir “Bossypants,” a collection of essays, may have been inspiration for Poehler’s book deal. Despite -- or perhaps because of -- the frightening man-arms cover, “Bossypants” became a bestseller.

In its wake, another comedian-actress scored a book deal. Lena Dunham’s astonishingly high advance ($3.6 million or more) was for a memoir that will be about “dieting, about dressing, about friendship and the two existential crises I had before the age of 20.”

While the terms of Poehler’s memoir deal were not disclosed, its unusual format sounds like it may have potential. “Amy’s intelligence, comedic genius, and care for her craft shines through everything she does, and I know that this book will be no exception,” said Executive Editor Carrie Thornton. “To have the chance to work with an artist of this caliber is every editor’s great hope, and I can’t wait to see how this book evolves.”
