Platinum Triangle Project Is Begun
From Times Staff Reports
City officials and developer Windstar Communities broke ground Tuesday on the first mixed-use project to be built in the Platinum Triangle.
The Stadium Lofts, 390 units to be built on top of restaurants and retail, is expected to be completed in 2006.
The Platinum Triangle is 807 acres between the Santa Ana Freeway and the Santa Ana River that includes Angel Stadium and the Arrowhead Pond. The city envisions it as Orange County’s future downtown, with a high-density mix of housing, office space, shops and entertainment.
