Lisa Marie taps her rock lineage
The next big Presley album isn’t by Elvis, it’s by Lisa Marie. The daughter of the late king of rock ‘n’ roll (and the ex-wife of the self-styled king of pop, Michael Jackson) will release her debut album, “To Whom It May Concern,” on April 8 through Capitol Records.
Coming from a celebrity who has been more often discussed than heard from, the album is being described as a declaration of self. “This is me,” Presley said in a statement Friday. “This record is me. Every song is me. You’re going to see who I really am and not what the tabloids say or whatever anyone has to say about me.”
Capitol Records says that Presley has most of the songwriting credits on the collection and that the subject matter veers from self-analysis (“S.O.B.”) to a protest of the casual use of prescription drugs for children in the title track.
