Residents Urged to Protest Liquor License

Weeks before the grand opening of the $157-million Chumash Casino, residents are being urged to protest a liquor license for one of the gambling hall’s restaurants.
A mailer circulating in the Santa Ynez Valley warns that an interim liquor license may be issued without a public hearing if residents don’t act quickly.
The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians applied for a liquor license for a steakhouse in the casino opening this month.
