A Predictable Pick Six Pack

A lot of pick six players left Los Alamitos--or one of its satellites--with a smile late Friday night.

Not rich, but happy.

On an evening when the highest-priced winner in the nine races was Ryans Ridge at $5.20 in the seventh, there figured to be a lot of perfect pick six tickets.

Thanks to victories by favorites Vising ($2.80), Seperate Lanes ($4.60), Kg Jim Dandy ($4.60), Ryans Ridge, Texas Classy ($3.40) and A Big Shot of Brandy ($3.60), the pick six was worth only $74.80 and consolations were only $4.

Players will be hoping for a bit more variety tonight.

The main event is the eighth, a $12,300 allowance race for 3-year-olds at 350 yards.

Heza Hot Hit, a winner of five of eight for trainer Donna McArthur, is the 9-5 morning line favorite, but Tiny Rocket Dash, who will leave from the rail, has won seven of eight as he makes his California debut for owner-trainer Roberto Dominguez.

The picks: 1. Lanes Fortune. 2. Leav’em Speechless. 3. Kooba Dash. 4. Lost Pirate. 5. Lotsalack. 6. Zoras. 7. Cam Goes Native. 8. Tiny Rocket Dash. 9. Bobbin Lee.

Four! In the opener, we’ll use both of trainer Blane Schvaneveldt’s maidens Lanes Fortune and Crocodile Hunter, Leav’em Speechless and Noorooma in the second, single Kooba Dash in the third and Lost Pirate, Run Cielo Run, Call Seattle and Synner Or Saint in the fourth.

Total cost: $16.

Shots in the dark: Noorooma adds Lasix for her third career start, so improvement is possible in tonight’s second, and Dancingbuterfly was hampered by a slow start in her first race of the year on March 7 and could move forward for hot trainer Christopher O’Dell.
