An Olympics Encore For Gloria Estefan
The last link between the Atlanta Summer Games and the U.S. Olympic movement will be the appearance of pop singer Gloria Estefan, who also sang at ceremonies in the ’96 Olympics.
Salt Lake Organizing Committee President Mitt Romney and International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge will say their goodbyes to the crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium and the attention will turn to Athens in 2004 and Turin, Italy, in 2006.
