* Dr. Mary Knight wrote (letter, June 4) that Netherlands patients “are afraid to go to the doctor for fear of being euthanized.” On May 5, I visited an elderly friend in a Rotterdam nursing home. The patients were of all ages in all kinds of condition. My friend has little short-term memory. She may never leave the nursing home. She and the others are well cared for. There were many doctors and nurses available. No way were any of these patients being euthanized.
