Total Involvement Ministry, a small, grass-roots prison and gangs street ministry based in North Hills, needs volunteers of any age to assist with various tasks. For information, call Tim Page at (818) 893-7059.

Los Angeles Community Action Network (L.A. CAN) is a volunteer membership organization that began in 1983. The network assists other organizations with fund-raising events. Members receive a bimonthly newsletter with about 80 to 100 listings for volunteer help. For information about joining, call (310) 215-1137.

The Catalyst Foundation for AIDS Awareness and Care, 44758 Elm Ave., Lancaster, needs volunteers to join a speaker’s bureau and work with boys incarcerated at Challenger Memorial Youth Center, a probation camp for 600 boys in Lancaster. The foundation is looking for people who have been involved in drugs, crime, violence or gangs but have turned their lives around. Both those who are HIV-positive and HIV-negative are welcome.
