LOS ANGELES : Shannen Doherty Sued by Former Landlord
Shannen Doherty’s ex-landlord sued the “Beverly Hills 90210” cast member Wednesday, alleging that she did $136,300 worth of damage to an apartment and stiffed him for $14,000 in rent.
Mark Nishimura, who filed eviction papers against the Memphis-born actress in late March, 1993, owns the unit she rented on North Doheny Drive.
Doherty’s publicist, Lisa Kasteler, said the actress was out of the country and had not been served with the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, Nishimura claims Doherty moved out after the eviction papers were served. But he alleges that he was unable to rent the unit until the lease expired in August because of the severity of the damage. He says that cost him an additional $44,000 in potential income.
