LOS ANGELES : Motley Crue Drummer Faces Weapons Charges
Criminal charges were filed Tuesday against a member of the heavy metal rock band Motley Crue, who was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of carrying a loaded pistol.
Tommy Lee, drummer for the group, is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 22 in West Los Angeles Municipal Court on one count each of possession of a concealed firearm and possession of a loaded firearm, Deputy Dist. Atty. Larry Webster said.
Airport police arrested the 31-year-old musician Nov. 9 after a security officer spotted the weapon in Lee’s carry-on luggage as it passed through an X-ray device, the prosecutor said.
The Thousand Oaks resident, who was formerly married to actress Heather Locklear, remains free on his own recognizance.
